October 7, 2013

Greetings everyone!  Fall is here, no question about that.  Unfortunately we haven’t had as much colour on the trees to enjoy; perhaps we will still get some in the next week before all of the leaves hit the ground.

I will begin with wishing my parents, Claire and Norma Norwood a very Happy 50th Wedding Anniversary.  We celebrated this special day on their actual Golden Anniversary, Saturday October 5th.  My brothers, Brian and Keith, my sister Shelley and I, along with our families congratulate you both on this extraordinary milestone.  Here’s to many more happy and healthy years to come.

Minesing has lost one of its well-known residents.   Stan Noble passed away peacefully on Friday October 4, 2013 at Hospice Simcoe with his loving wife and best friend Joanne by his side. Stan Noble at the age of 56, proud father of Kim (Brandon Collins) and Greg (Stephanie Haskett). Dear son of Gladys (the late Stan Sr.) Noble. Stan is also survived by his brothers Dave (Bev) and Bruce (Janet) Noble. Stan will be sadly missed by all of his Minesing pals.  Our condolences go out to the Noble family and hope that the wonderful memories that were created over the years will help you through this difficult time.

As Thanksgiving approaches, remember that there are those less fortunate out there that aren’t able to celebrate in a way that many of us can; if you can donate to the local food bank that will make it a much nicer way to celebrate the holiday for more people.

Enjoy time with your family and be thankful for the many things that make us, as Canadians, so fortunate.

To those in the Canadian Armed Forces, at home and abroad, we thank you for all you do for us in protecting our country and doing what you do every day.  Also we should be thankful for our local emergency services, who are there when we need them.  They put their lives on the line daily.  The Springwater Fire Department, the OPP and the ambulance services that are all there for us in sometimes scary and unpredictable circumstances.

Until next time, keep the tums close for your post-Thanksgiving dinner!
