Greetings everyone! I hope that everyone has their outside belongings tied down or I’m sure they have blown over or far away during the last couple days. Don’t send your small children or pets outside without weighing or strapping them down or you may have to go searching for them as well.
Parents and students of the Grade 8 class would like to thank everyone in the community and surrounding area who contributed to the scrap metal and electronics drop off at the school. Your donations are greatly appreciated as the money raised from this is going towards their Ottawa trip in the Spring. We will be having another collection in April, so if you missed this drop off, save it up and we’ll gladly take it off of your hands in the springtime.
Minesing has been growing quickly in the new subdivision, as several houses have been completed this summer and fall. We would like to welcome these families to our great community and hope they enjoy living in our little village. For these new families, you can find local information in on our website atwww.minesing.ca.
To those wondering about the tree lighting at the Community Centre, it will be held on Saturday December 7th from 5-8 p.m. Swampy will be there and you can have pictures taken with him for $5. Face painting with Mrs. Claus. Horse drawn wagon rides and caroling. Donations to the local food bank are being collected as well.
Friday November 29th, the Grade 8 Class at Minesing is holding a movie night for public school aged children. This is a good chance for parents to get an evening out for dinner or Christmas shopping. The evening will begin at 6:30 and end at 9 p.m. The cost is $5 per child and this will include a movie, popcorn and a drink. Kids are encouraged to wear their pj’s and bring a cozy pillow or blanket to watch the movie.
Until next time, deck your halls with bows of holly, fa la la la la la la la la!
